Description
Heading west on a lonely stretch of peaceful New Mexico highway-I was photographing the storms blustering to the north and came upon these beautiful Buffalo cows ruminating with their sleeping calves-they were in rich buffalo grass.
My spirit felt their peace and as if their spirits were saying:
Buffalo Psalm
"Grand Father is my Herdsman-
I am not in need of any good thing-
He lets me lie down in green Buffalo Grasses--
He guides me beside still spring waters-
He restores my soul within me--
Ho! When I tread the trail through the dark and lightning valley,
When death's shadow awaits in ambush for me-
I will not fear the evil ones-
For Your Great Holy Spirit, and Son of Grandfather,
Who sang the stars into brightness-
You are all with me-
Your Song and Your Holy Dance, they comfort me...
You prepare a great feast for me across the prairie-
And I shall dwell in the fields
Blown by Winds of Great Holy Spirit forever."
