Description
Spring’s Hope of the Flowers to Come
...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philippians 1:6
The end of March and there are apricot blossoms swaying against a Van Gogh sky
First thunders with transparent vergas-
Clouds shimmering as curtains drawn across the western skyline-jagged and blue
First rainbows in the evening sun.
First shoots of a new special iris just planted-Siberian: ‘Shaker’s Prayer’.
Its image on the package drew me to purchase this cold country perennial and the name became prophetic. The Shakers were so called because of their uncontrollable shaking when the Holy Spirit came upon them in power.
I was irresistibly drawn to the flower’s chord of colors yellow and lavender with brocade-like veins of purple embroidering the petals.
This neon green blade of iris leaf breaking through the black soil into the sunlight reminds me of our lifting our spirits up to the light given to us this day.
Even though the iris root was severed from the mother plant, here it is sprouting reiliently.
“For there is hope for a tree,
If it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
And that its tender shoots will not cease. Job 14:7
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope. Psalm 16:9
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the LORD. Psalm 31:24
But I will hope continually,
And will praise You yet more and more. Psalm 71:14
Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live;
And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. Psalm 119:116
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. Pro 13:12
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:24
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:26
Return to the stronghold,
You prisoners of hope.
Even today I declare
That I will restore double to you. Zechariah 9:12
“so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;” Acts 17:27
“I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust”. Acts 24:15
through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; Romans 5:3
and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:4
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5
For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? Romans 8:24
But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:25
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer, Romans 12:12;
Reveling in the Supernatural hope of more coming to life into the light of Spring;
I have been keeping the image of the iris to come in my kitchen, and it inspires me to water and daily attend the new plant’s growth in my garden.
Likewise, I keep God’s Word and presence before me,
Each morning reading God’s scriptures-love-letters and operating manual—
and the messages to me of Supernatural Love Faith and Hope-and power given to me fresh each day,
Listening to His voice, His songs, on earth as they are in Heaven,
They give me signs that I am not alone in here, my ‘Temple of the Holy Spirit--
signs of daily developments of trust in the Character, and promises of God and in the daily infilling of the Holy Spirit-Like watering the plants this day, for flowers of glorious beauty in days to come!
I continue to consider the iris--consider the lilies...
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; Mat 6:28
“and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat 6:29
“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Mat 6:30
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ Mat 6:31
“For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Mat 6:32
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Mat 6:33
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Mat 6:34
“The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. Deuteronomy 28:12
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23
So let us continue to pray for the spring heavenly rains and the Rain of the Spirit upon us, and
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
