Description
The American Mustang, of Spanish descent is a spirited symbol of American Freedom. Sadly these mustangs' freedoms are being taken away, and grazing cattle leases keep winning over designated wild horse reserves-I have been on the side of "Letting the Wild Stay Free," but alas the captures continue, grazing habitat is stolen from them, and I have been able to afford to adopt, and or 'rescue' only a few. This magnificent tall mustang mare, Luminosa is one of them. She is now gentle friendly and trained to ride. But running free is how I best love to see her! My cohort, and comrade in the Global Fellowship of the Horse Alliance and WILD Horse Advocate, Sandi Claypool of Monero Mustang Ranch has lost the large sanctuary acreage--60 plus horses are in small corrals-- Sandi needs help getting a large land lease, and with purchasing hay & relocating about 60 horses from her wild horse sanctuary. proceeds from my mustang art sales goes to help these living symbols of our wild & free American Western heritage--So please purchase a print to help! On Face Book look up Monero Mustangs read more about this crisis and join us in helping!
In raising heirloom livestock for many years I had the wild horse herd of La Jarita DNA tested back in the late 1990's I adopted some mares and cross bred one to my national champion Andalusian stallion-way back then, with beautiful results. I adopted this lovely bay mare-La Jarita Gracia-'Gracie,' from a round-up and tamed her. I coached my stepson Joshua to be the first one to ride her, and she has been great! Amorante Luc, 1/2 Andalusian, 1/2 Mustang cross colt that raised is following in the flying snow crystals.
