Description
During a previous chapter of my life around 1994; I had found a young woman's skeleton coming up out of the ground next to the "Great Kiva"of Chimney Rock archaeology site, near Pagosa Springs, Colorado, which had been my home for 11 years. This discovery occurred during a guided tour on the 4th of July, accompanied by quite a few friends.
The head of the Forest Service, tried to get me arrested for the discovery--Bruce Babbit, then governor of Arizona, much to the Forest Service's surprise; came in to be my and my two friend's attorney-There was much intrigue involved which cannot be mentioned here but unfolds in my book-I had a friend who worked for the Taos tribe, call the Hopi's to have them come in for a reburial dance of their ancient relative, and since then, the Hopi's have been dancing there... Also the Governor of the tribe wrote a letter thanking me for "protecting" the burial site of their ancestor after discovering her-as the archeologist assigned to the discovery said she was a young woman in her twenties.
Less than a week later I had an in depth vision, like time travel, of that young woman's life, and what happened up there at Chimney Rock. Having already been an working on "The Birds and Masks of the Ancient Ones" paintings series, and avidly researching the Hopi prophecies and ancient southwestern cultures, I thus I began a series of Chimney Rock and mystic illustrative paintings, including the white deer painting and the book "Where the Moon Stands Still-The Legend of White Deer Woman."
