"My Favorite Mountain, Trapper Peak with Sugar Loaf, one of "The Three Sisters" on the right. near where I resided in Darby, Montana for a year. As I began painting this view that enthralls me so much I found myself praying for all the trees that I was including in my composition. My prayers were for their protection from yearly forest fires which have so devastated many stands of Montana forest. So far, praise God, these stands are still safe. The elk gather in this dream hay pasture after hunting season ends. White elk have been seen here, by those Blessed with such special moment to observe in nature.
ARTIST BIO Anastasia Ealy has been a New Mexico artist since 1984. She was raised with the love of the Rocky Mountain west, ranching, horses, farm animals, gardening and mountains. Many summer times were spent on the Nebraska family ranch. Her mother was a Creole from New Orleans, Louisiana, of original French and Portuguese,Spanish,Sephardi-Jew, early 1700's Colonial ancestry. This Spanish heritage, and having lived and painted in Calpe, Spain during the 1970's also gives Anastasia a strong affinity to Northern New Mexico.Colonial heritage, and love for it people and landscapes.
