Since I recently received many of my original paintings from an art gallery in Montana which damaged many original canvasses possibly irreparably--I am posting some of my artwork hitherto not on this excellent gallery site.
August 27th 1996, I was driving down from Pagosa Springs Colorado, and: Behold, the sky was wild over Abiquiu Lake. I had no camera so I pulled over and soaked in the fantastic sky-show! The next day I painted with acrylics as fast as I could the wondrous gift of that evening celestial event.
For special reasons I remember the date, as well as remembering describing the landscapes and turning autumn colors to my private nursing patient; Georgia O'Keeffe-She had been begging me to drive her to her own Abiquiu home-Which viewed this lake-Which was not at all allowed. ARTIST BIO Anastasia Ealy has been a New Mexico artist since 1984. She was raised with the love of the Rocky Mountain west, ranching, horses, farm animals, gardening and mountains. Many summer times were spent on the Nebraska family ranch. Her mother was a Creole from New Orleans, Louisiana, of original French and Portuguese,Spanish,Sephardi-Jew, early 1700's Colonial ancestry. This Spanish heritage, and having lived and painted in Calpe, Spain during the 1970's also gives Anastasia a strong affinity to Northern New Mexico.Colonial heritage, and love for it people and landscapes.
