I'm enjoying my Celeste Fig tree in our Green House of Prayer, and as I was photographing her, with an infatuation with the fig's "color palette," and lovely, sweet fruit, a verse, Habakkuk 3:17-18 came to mind which now I need to write into a song...Latin name - Ficus carica-- Celeste or Malta fig trees typically keep their root systems more or less contained, and thus she is the perfect potted fig tree for my Green House of Prayer! The fruits are small and very sweet.Celeste Fig Trees live up to their second name, Sugar Fig. They bear figs that are as sweet with a smooth rich flavor. The figs are delightful fresh or dried.
ARTIST BIO Anastasia Ealy has been a New Mexico artist since 1984. She was raised with the love of the Rocky Mountain west, ranching, horses, farm animals, gardening and mountains. Many summer times were spent on the Nebraska family ranch. Her mother was a Creole from New Orleans, Louisiana, of original French and Portuguese,Spanish,Sephardi-Jew, early 1700's Colonial ancestry. This Spanish heritage, and having lived and painted in Calpe, Spain during the 1970's also gives Anastasia a strong affinity to Northern New Mexico.Colonial heritage, and love for it people and landscapes.
