I was there last summer during August Pleiades meteorite shower, Mestia, Svaneti, Georgia-High Heart of the Mystic Caucasus Mountains--A very rare place to be indeed! Night climb up broken ladder, five stories,skirt hiked up, into gaping stone eyed window, through stone steps that had to be negotiated in an exact manner or one would plummet down into an invaders pit. Medieval tower rooftop, we reach through hewn timber rafters and a door in the ceiling. "Take a picture of this" I heard my self telling me. So I tried, but with no tripod results were yet to be desired. The night's starry starry sky over the Princess Mountain Tetnuldi spoke to me of this painting. Ah--Not yet finished this series yet, this a beginning to share the feeling of Svaneti, who has captured my heart!

ARTIST BIO Anastasia Ealy has been a New Mexico artist since 1984. She was raised with the love of the Rocky Mountain west, ranching, horses, farm animals, gardening and mountains. Many summer times were spent on the Nebraska family ranch. Her mother was a Creole from New Orleans, Louisiana, of original French and Portuguese,Spanish,Sephardi-Jew, early 1700's Colonial ancestry. This Spanish heritage, and having lived and painted in Calpe, Spain during the 1970's also gives Anastasia a strong affinity to Northern New Mexico.Colonial heritage, and love for it people and landscapes.
