Artist's Description
I never cease to wonder at the moment by moment changing faces of Sangre de Cristo Mountain's Sheep's Head Peak from My Meadow, El Valle, NM--My favorite "Home Peak" which, or 'who' I am painting and photographing all the time--I can just step out the studio door and paint "Pleine air"-and step back in the sliding glass doors when the weather kicks up which is often and paint some more! Sometimes the drama of the mountains impress me to express my feeling about them with a knife. But its not about slatherng on huge ammounts of paint-Sometimes when painting on a missionary's budget--It's about saying more with less, and also the fun way that oil as the vehicle moves and swirls the paint. Sometomes its to render the feeling of Sylph-like gossamer-thin cirrus clouds-veils and wisps-Then I may use an almost dry brush, a sponge, or even a feather! Somehow the lighting did not upload properly, and was wrong on this, so I corrected it to be more true to my original.
